A part of our core business is bushland construction. Coal Coast Civil recently performed remediation works for flood damaged walking trails along the Great Southern Walk at Sublime Point in the Illawarra Escarpment. In this project we worked alongside Synergy Trails and NSW National Parks and Wildlife Services. We repaired over 12 km of flood damaged walking trail. This project was complex due to sight restrictions and the need to deliver a large amount of materials through helicopters. We are proud of our work on this project.
Coal Coast Civil as the primary contractor carried our civil construction works for Killalea Regional Park Sewer Upgrades . We worked with National Parks and Wildlife and our plumber subcontractor to complete pump to sewer and gravity sewer works within the Regional Park.
Coal Coast Civil, as the primary contractor, undertook excavation and installation works at the Minnamurra Back Track, in collaboration with NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service. The scope of works included foundation preparation for approximately 450m of new raised boardwalk, construction of pedestrian passing bays, new destination points and viewing platforms, as well as the demolition of an existing disability access ramp and installation of a compliant replacement ramp. These upgrades enhance accessibility and visitor experience while preserving the surrounding natural environment.

Coal Coast Civil performs remediation works on Category 1 Fire Trails. One of our recent projects was working within the Meryla Flora Reserve. We repaired 500m of fire trail areas that were water damaged. We placed 600mm large rocks in the damaged areas followed by 70mm smaller rocks to repair the water damage. We performed coating works with a 10tonne roller using sandstone to ensure a compacted finished surface.
Our firetail works are guided by the NSW RFS Fire Trail Standards and the Soil Conservation NSW Rural Fire Service Fire Trail Design, Construction and Maintenance Manual.
